October 2026 Update

Welcome back from fall break - I hope you have your costumes ready! Our October pack meeting is right around the corner, and we are turning it into the Pack 116 Halloween Hike & Hullabaloo!

Here is everything you need to know for Tuesday night's spooky (but scout-friendly!) adventure, plus a few upcoming calendar dates to save. As with all Pack 116 events - all are welcome (siblings, friends, neighbors, etc.)!

1. Halloween Hike & Hullabaloo (Tuesday, Oct 27)

• When: Tuesday, October 27th from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

• Where: Hazel Dell Elementary (West Side - Bus Parking Lot)

• What to Wear: Costumes are highly encouraged for scouts AND parents!

• What to Bring: Adults, please bring a flashlight. We will provide glow sticks for the scouts!

The Plan for the Evening: We will kick things off in the bus lot by handing out our latest adventure belt loops to recognize the scouts' hard work, followed by a Pack Costume Parade! Then, we’ll head out for a luminary-lit hike down the Midland Trace Trail and through the adjoining neighborhood. Along the way, scouts will make stops for candy and crafts, ending the night with a bonfire!

2. Volunteers Needed: Candy Stops & Trunk-or-Treat!

To make this hike a blast for the kids, we could use a little bit of parent magic!

• Trail Candy Stops: We need 3 to 5 parents to stand along the trail and hand out candy as the scouts hike by.

• Bus Lot Trunk-or-Treat / Activity: We would love a few families to set up a Trunk-or-Treat, a simple game, or a craft in the bus lot for the scouts to enjoy at the end of the hike. You can keep it as simple as standing by your open trunk, or go all-out with a theme!

3. T-Shirts & New "116" Uniform Patches

• T-Shirts: We still have a few remaining pack t-shirts and hoodies to distribute. If you haven't grabbed yours yet, please see us at the meeting (Maciel, Hinshaw, Ranck, Hamiltons, Cummings, Bussberg, Carrillo).

• Uniform Patches: We now have custom "116" unit number patches available for your scout's Class A uniform shirts! (3 numbers on one patch = less sewing!) They are $5 each and will be available for purchase at the meeting.

Please save the dates for our upcoming meetings as we move into the holiday season. (Locations for the November and December pack events are being finalized and will be shared soon!)
