Fall is here, and that means it’s time for one of our favorite Pack traditions: The Fall Family Campout! We are heading to Camp Cullom for a weekend of outdoor adventure, skits, hiking, cooking, and camaraderie around the campfire.
Whether you are a seasoned camping family or looking to try tent camping for the first time, this event is for you!
Here are the essential details, action items, and packing lists:
When: Saturday, September 26 – Sunday, September 27, 2026
Optional Friday Arrival: After 6:30 PM on Friday, September 25
Where: Camp Cullom, 6815 W Co Rd 200 N, Frankfort, IN 46041
View Campground Map (Campsites TBD, likely Bluebird Meadow or Hill Top)
Cost: FREE for all scouts and family members (covered by pack dues)!
RSVP Deadline: Monday, September 21st
1. RSVP & Volunteer Shifts Please RSVP via the link above no later than September 21st. This is crucial for purchasing the correct amount of food and planning activities. Within the form, please sign up for adult volunteer shifts to help with meal service and cleanup.
2. BSA Health Forms (Required for EVERY Person Attending) Each person attending (scouts, parents, and siblings) must have a completed BSA Health Form (Parts A & B) on file.
If you completed this within the last 12 months, you do not need to resubmit.

Please review this checklist as you prepare your gear:
Essential Gear & Camping Supplies:
Tent and tarp/ground cover for under the tent
Sleeping bags and pillows
Air mattress, camping pad, or cot
Camp chairs
Flashlight or headlamp
Towel or entrance mat for the tent door
Personal & Safety Items:
Mess kit or reusable plate, cup, bowl, and silverware
Filled water bottle (plus optional jugs of drinking water if you prefer not to drink camp well water)
Whistle
Change of clothes and weather-appropriate attire (dress in layers; days can be warm/rainy and nights cold)
Proper footwear: Hiking shoes or boots preferred (and an extra pair if wet weather is predicted)
Bug spray and sunscreen
Bathroom necessities (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc.)
Healthy snacks (kids can get hangry before meal times, though we will have plenty of food!)
Pocketknives (permitted ONLY for scouts who have earned their Whittlin’ Chip; note that knives are not allowed in the camp museum)
Camp Rules to Note:
No Electronics: We ask that scouts leave all electronic devices at home/in vehicles to enjoy the outdoors.
Substance Policy: Alcohol and smoking are strictly prohibited at Scout events.
Arrival & Unloading:
Saturday Start: Arrive between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM on Saturday to set up your personal tent. Programming begins promptly at 10:00 AM.
Optional Friday Start: Campsites are reserved starting Friday night. Arrive after 6:30 PM if you’d like to help set up main Pack gear and pitch camp early.
Parking: Unload and park in the main designated parking lot next to the camp, then carry your gear to the campsite.
First-Time Campers: Never camped before? Don’t let a lack of gear stop you! We have Pack equipment available to borrow and want to help remove any barriers for families. If you need gear or have special accommodations, please contact Chris Olry at chris@theolrys.com or 317-697-3961.

6:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Optional early arrival, camp kitchen setup, and tent pitching.
No dinner provided on Friday.
Saturday, September 26th
8:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Official arrival window & tent setup.
10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Unified Outdoor Skills & Safety (Outdoor Code, Buddy System, Knots, and Fire Safety).
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM: Lunch & extended downtime (lawn games, relaxation).
1:30 PM – 3:00 PM: Pack Nature Hike (T6: Towering Tulips & Purple Trail loop – 1.2 Miles).
3:00 PM – 5:30 PM: Afternoon downtime & den skit prep for campfire.
5:30 PM – 7:30 PM: Dinner, cleanup, and campfire rehearsals.
7:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Full Pack Campfire Program, den skits, and S'mores!
Sunday, September 27th
8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: Breakfast & outdoor Scout’s Own reflection.
9:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Leave No Trace campsite sweep & gear pack-up.
12:00 PM: Checkout.
Friday Dinner: On your own before arriving.
Saturday Breakfast: Grab-and-go pastries, fruit, hot chocolate, juice, coffee.
Saturday Lunch: Deli ham & turkey sandwiches with fixings, string cheese, chips, apples, bananas, drinks.
Saturday Dinner: BBQ pulled pork, hot dogs, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, grapes, watermelon, drinks, and S'mores!
Sunday Breakfast: Breakfast sandwiches (egg, cheese, sausage on English muffins), cereal, yogurt, bars, juice, coffee.
